Children ages 3 through 5th grade
are welcome!
Each classroom allows children
to learn important biblical truths.
Children are taught Bible verses,
important people of the Bible,
how to share and develop their faith,
and application of scripture.
The dedicated teachers carefully plan
weekly lessons to challenge boys and girls to experience their Christian faith.

but children are excused early in the
service to attend their own program,
Children's Church.
We use material developed for their age level.
Leaders use a variety of tools and activities
to reinforce biblical learning and truths.
We are using Integrity Direct's "Shout Praises Kids" program.
Each lesson includes of a song with sheet music, scripture memory, drama, Bible lesson, Bible story, plus a take home challenge for families.
Learning and memorizing hymns is a valuable way to plant God’s Word in the hearts of our children. They will also gain confidence and learn to perform before a live audience when they perform in worship services and the annual children’s Christmas musical.
The Children’s Department holds VBS one week during the summer typically in the month of July.

Our VBS this year is Lifeway's Club VBS: Beach Blast.
CHILDREN's ACTIVITIES
In March or April, depending where Easter falls on the calendar, we have an Easter Egg Hunt on the church lawn for the children. That includes time for games, lunch and the Easter story.
The month of October is celebrated with a Harvest Party! After eating dinner in the fellowship hall with their family, children are involved in their own activities like decorating and carving pumpkins, making crafts, bobbing for apples, plus stories and puppets.
At Christmas the children may go along with the youth as they go caroling to the sick, and shut-ins of the church. Our Christmas get together was a little different last year in that we decided to take the children to Busch Gardens’ Christmastown.
Later in the season, we try to do indoor activities like the Bouncy House in Denbigh or ice skating at the Science Museum in Downtown Hampton.

Classes for children and adults are held in the evening at the church.
VBS has really become a family event at Pine Chapel!
All the activities are structured around each other so that no matter what activity your child is participating in the Word of God is reinforced.
Your child will be with other children learning about Jesus, playing games, and making crafts.
